Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav & Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Food Festival was organized by the Ministry of Tourism in association with the different State Governments and Union Territories in their State Sadans/Bhavans in the capital from 18th-20th August, 2023.

Mizoram Tourism also organized Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav & Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Food Festival in association with Office of the Resident Commissioner, Mizoram House, New Delhi at Chanakyapuri.

The aim of the festival is to celebrate the rich culinary diversity of India. The event will showcase state-specific cuisines and promote awareness of the unique offerings within each region, while fostering a sense of togetherness.

The event also aims to promote the concept of Dekho Apna Desh, which has been one of the successful programs of the Ministry of Tourism for encouraging the citizens of the country to explore hidden treasures of their own country. This initiative aligns with the larger goal of promoting domestic tourism and fostering a sense of pride in one's heritage.

During the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav & Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Food Festival held in Mizoram House, New Delhi, there was positive response from the food lovers for Mizo foods due to its wide range of unique and delicious delicacies with a unique blend of different spices like vegetable leaves, black pepper, local chillies and spices.

Mizoram Tourism showcased delectable choices of Mizo cuisines including Vawksa rep buhchiar, vawklu bawl, baibing, chingit bai, phuihnam tlak, nghaum chutney, vawksa misa bai, vawklu bawl, dawirep bai, antam tlak, bekang chutney, vawksa and bamboo shoot etc. The Food Festival at Mizoram House, New Delhi received 50 visitors on 18th August 2023, 35 on 19th August 2023 and more than 70 on 20th August 2023.

The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav & Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Food Festival is not only a celebration of Mizoram's rich culture and heritage but also to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav as Mizoram diverse landscapes and its varies culinary selection are attractions to the tourists and the festival aims to promote the spirit of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat. The collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Tourism, State Governments, and various stakeholders will ensure the success of this enriching experience and promote Mizoram Tourism in a wider scale.
