On 13^th December 2024, Workshop on Community Based Tourism and sensitization programme was conducted at Thenzawl Auditorium, Thenzawl, Serchhip District.
Pi R. Lalrodingi, Director, Tourism Department, Pu Lalhlimpuia, MCS, BDO and Pi Golda Zohmangaihi, Associate Professor, Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Government of Mizoram were the key speakers, who shared valuable insight and guidance to the attendees.
The main objectives of this workshop is to raise awareness about the importance of tourism, and to provide stakeholders with knowledge and tools for sustainable tourism practices and encourage active participation from the local communities.
The programme was attended by more than 50 stakeholders such as, hotel owners, restaurants owners, tour guide, vendors and handlooms and textiles business proprietors and resort and park owners, taxi and auto drivers.
The insights and discussions from the workshop are expected to pave the way for impactful initiatives that will benefit both the community and the environment.
